Cash Flow—Beginning in the fall of 2012, low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) powerplants may be available at Home Depot for $1500 to supply individual homes with all the heating and cooling needs of the home. In another year, the devices may also be able to supply electrical power.
Dr. Andrea Rossi tells James Martinez that he is using the Energy Catalyzer, E-Cat, in his home and expects the devices to be certified in the fall of 2012 and initially 1 million devices will be available for $1500 each. Dr. Rossi expects the cost of fuel (nickel and hydrogen) to power the devices to be about one sixth of the current costs of using gas, oil or coal.
Existing nuclear power plants use fission to split a radioactive atom into two, while the E-cat uses the fusion technique which merges two radioactive atoms forming a new element that possesses greater energy.
National Instruments, one of the largest companies in the United States, has contracted with Dr. Rossi to manufacture and supply instrumentation for the E-Cat.
